Yogi Bhajan said, in so many words, that the Kundalini energy was our creative potential and that the purpose of life was to find and utilize this creative flow within us to uplift and help ourselves so that we would be able to help humanity. That's a consolidation of about 200 lectures and teachings, but really....that's what it's all about.
I do a fair amount of reading about creativity in relation to yoga or yoga in relation to creativity and one thing I've learned is that our job as yogis is to open and maintain the channels of energy within so that the divine, infinite creative force can move through us. The goal of ALL yogas, Kundalini Yoga included, is to unite our finite selves with our infinite selves.
One of the most effective ways to do this is by practicing
the Laya Yoga meditation. This beautiful meditation enables us to consciously remember and experience the link between our finite selves with the Infinite. It will go deep into your subconscious and give you the memory and experience of your true identity. It makes you feel vibrant, energized and blissfully aware. It opens the channels so that your creative self can be seen and heard. It's a powerful practice to do for 40, 90, or 120 days and we are going to practice it tonight. “THE CREATIVE FLOW IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE. WE
CREATE FLOWS; WHETHER THE FLOW LEADS TO
CORRUPTION OR ENDS UP IN DISASTER, ALL FLOWS ARE
OURS. BUT THERE ARE FLOWS THROUGH WHICH WE
CREATE IDENTITY CRISIS AND THERE ARE FLOWS
THROUGH WHICH WE CREATE IDENTIFICATION.
SOMETIMES WE CREATE SUCH A POWERFUL IDENTITY
THAT WE CREATE THE TRENDS, WE CREATE THE FLOWS,
WE BECOME THE SOURCE. AND THAT IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL
ABOUT”– “IDENTITY AND THE CREATIVE CRISIS” – YOGI BHAJAN MAY 28, 1984
